Eurolines
Eurolines is a historic European long-distance bus network formed in 1985 by the merger of several national carriers. With more than 2,500 destinations across 33 countries, including 60 French cities, Eurolines remains a benchmark for international long-distance bus travel.
Eurolines, the historic federation of European coach travel
Eurolines was created in 1985 by the federation of more than 30 European national coach companies to operate a common cross-border network. The cooperative model allowed Eurolines to become Europe's leading long-distance operator in the 1990s and 2000s. After the arrival of FlixBus and the liberalisation of national markets, the brand has reorganised but remains active on long international routes, particularly to Eastern Europe and the Balkans.
Network and main routes
Eurolines today serves more than 600 destinations in 34 countries, departing from 60 French cities (Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Lille, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Strasbourg, Nantes, Rennes, Nice, Montpellier). From Paris, the main lines link London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Prague, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Vienna, Warsaw, Budapest and Lisbon. The Paris-Amsterdam line takes about 6 h 30, Paris-London 8 h (including the Channel crossing by ferry or shuttle).
Onboard services
Eurolines coaches (operated by various national affiliates) offer air conditioning, toilets, reclining seats, power sockets on modern trainsets and Wi-Fi on part of the fleet. Long international routes include refreshment stops every 3-4 hours. The Premium class (available on certain lines) offers more space between seats and a light meal included.
