From how many travellers is it considered a "group"?
European carriers activate group rates from 10 travellers on trains and 20 to 30 travellers on coaches. Below that, we will still help but the savings are marginal — we will tell you transparently whether a group quote is worth it.
What is the largest size Gopaxo can handle?
We have coordinated trips for 500+ travellers (corporate conventions, sports federations) using coach fleets or private carriages. Beyond that we set up a dedicated event team to charter trains or coaches.
How long does it take to receive a quote?
Within 24 working hours for simple requests (one outbound, one return, within Europe). Allow 48 to 72 hours for complex trips (multi-city, train + coach combinations, charter). We always commit to a precise deadline when we confirm receipt.
Is the quote free and non-binding?
Yes, 100% free and non-binding. You are only invoiced when you explicitly approve the quote and we proceed with the booking.
How far in advance should I book group travel?
Ideally 2 to 3 months before departure for high-speed trains (TGV, Eurostar) to secure the best fares and guarantee seats. For long-distance coaches, 4 to 6 weeks is usually enough. Urgent requests (under 15 days) are still possible subject to availability.
How does invoicing work?
You receive a single invoice in the name of your association, school or company, with recoverable VAT where applicable. Payment by bank transfer, card or instalments depending on amount. Public-sector entities (town halls, schools) are welcome.
Are tickets named? What happens if someone cancels?
It depends on the operator. On some trains (TGV inOui, Eurostar) tickets are named and can be modified up to a few days before departure. On coaches, passenger lists can often be adjusted up to 48 hours ahead. Your advisor handles the changes.
Can Gopaxo charter a coach or a train carriage?
Yes. From 30 travellers we can charter whole coaches. For very large groups (200+) we can privatise train carriages or even charter a full train in partnership with the operators.
Do you cover international travel and connections?
Yes. We cover the main European routes: Eurostar, Thalys, Trenitalia, Renfe, Deutsche Bahn, international FlixBus and more. For complex itineraries we plan the routing and account for safe connection times.
