Eurostar: Paris–London, Brussels, Amsterdam
Eurostar links Paris to London in 2 h 16 via the Channel Tunnel and, since the merger with Thalys (October 2023), also serves Brussels, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Cologne and Düsseldorf. On Gopaxo, compare Eurostar fares with alternative European operators in a single search.
The main Eurostar lines
- Paris – London: ~17 return trips per day, 2 h 16 journey time, between Gare du Nord and St Pancras International.
- Paris – Brussels: 1 h 22 between Paris Gare du Nord and Brussels-Midi.
- Paris – Amsterdam: 3 h 19 with no change all the way to Amsterdam Centraal.
- Brussels / Lille – London: access to London from Belgium and Northern France.
- Paris – Cologne / Düsseldorf: extension of the former Thalys network.
The three Eurostar classes
Eurostar offers Standard (the most economical ticket), Plus (more space, light meal, early boarding access) and Premier / Business Premier (lounge, full meal served on board, boarding 10 minutes before departure, priority baggage).
Stations, checks and formalities
For London, plan to arrive at least 45 to 60 minutes before departure, as security and border checks (passport, UK customs) are carried out at the departure station. A valid passport is compulsory — the national ID card is no longer accepted since Brexit.
For other Eurostar destinations (Brussels, Amsterdam, Cologne), 20 to 30 minutes are enough and no border check is required.
Eurostar baggage
Each traveller can carry up to 2 suitcases (max 85 cm each) + 1 piece of hand baggage. Bags are not weighed but must be handled without help. Bicycles, skis and bulky instruments are accepted with prior booking and a supplement.
Tips to pay less
Standard fares start from £39 Paris → London, £29 Paris → Brussels. Like SNCF, Eurostar opens its sales 3 to 4 months in advance. To maximise your chances, combine your search with the rest of the train + bus network via Gopaxo — see also the train page.
