OUIGO France
OUIGO is SNCF's low-cost subsidiary launched in 2013. With tickets from €10 (€5 for children), OUIGO serves more than 70 French cities and Brussels through two complementary services: OUIGO Grande Vitesse (TGV duplex) and OUIGO Train Classique (refurbished Corail trains).
OUIGO, high-speed trains at slashed prices
Launched in April 2013 on the Paris Marne-la-Vallée – Marseille route, OUIGO has become the leading low-cost brand in French rail travel. The principle: TGV Duplex trainsets configured 100% in 2nd class, 1,200 to 1,260 seats per train, intensive operation (up to 14 rotations per trainset per day) and reduced distribution costs (online sales only, lower commercial fees). The result: 60% of OUIGO tickets are sold for less than €35.
Since 2022, OUIGO has rounded out its offer with OUIGO Train Classique, which uses modernised Corail coaches and runs at conventional speed (200 km/h max) on Paris-Lyon, Paris-Nantes, Paris-Bordeaux and Paris-Rennes. This service makes it possible to reach small stations not served by high speed (Les Aubrais-Orléans, Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, etc.) while keeping the same floor fares.
The cities served by OUIGO
OUIGO serves more than 70 large French cities as well as Brussels (Belgium). The main OUIGO Grande Vitesse destinations include Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lille, Nantes, Rennes, Montpellier, Nice, Toulouse, Avignon TGV, Aix-en-Provence TGV, Nîmes and Valence. OUIGO Train Classique adds inner-Paris stations (Paris Bercy, Paris Austerlitz) and city-centre stations (Lyon Perrache, Angers, Poitiers). For the 2026 high season, OUIGO has announced a Paris-Strasbourg-Marseille opening and is densifying Paris-Bordeaux.
OUIGO fares: how to travel for €10
OUIGO fares start at €10 for adults (€5 for children under 12) on OUIGO Grande Vitesse, and €5 for children on OUIGO Train Classique. Sales open about 4 months before the date of departure (11 March for summer 2026): the first tickets out are the cheapest. To get an OUIGO at floor price, it is recommended to travel during off-peak hours (first morning train, midday on weekdays) and to avoid school-holiday departures.
OUIGO baggage: the 2-bag rule
Every OUIGO ticket includes 1 hand bag (40 × 30 × 15 cm) and 1 cabin bag (55 × 35 × 25 cm). Any extra bag costs €5 if added online up to 30 minutes before departure, or €20 at the station. The OUIGO PLUS option (+ €9) includes an extra bag, seat selection and ticket exchange. Children's equipment (pushchairs, carrycots, car seats) is free and unlimited when accompanying a child under 12.
On board, OUIGO does not offer a catering service: bring your own snacks. Power sockets are available at certain seats on new-generation trainsets; Wi-Fi is not systematic. Animals under 6 kg cost €10, larger ones €30 per trip.
