About the role
You're joining a small Data & AI team whose mission is to leverage the millions of searches made on Gopaxo (train, bus, carpooling, plane) to personalise results, recommend destinations and prepare our presence in generative AI engines (GEO / AEO).
You alternate between experimentation (prototypes, offline evaluations, A/B tests) and production deployment of models, embeddings and agents that directly serve our users.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy the destination-recommendation and multimodal-offer ranking models (train, bus, carpooling, plane).
- Build our embedding and semantic-search pipelines for autocomplete and inspirational pages.
- Evaluate and integrate major LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral) into our internal tools and the traveller experience.
- Measure the product and business impact of every iteration and install a culture of rigorous evaluation.
- Support the SEO team on the Generative Engine Optimization and AI Overviews strategy.
Who we're looking for
- At least 3 years of experience in Machine Learning, Data Science or AI Engineering with production deployments.
- You master Python and modern libraries (PyTorch, scikit-learn, Hugging Face, LangChain).
- You can manipulate large data volumes (SQL, BigQuery/Snowflake, Python pandas/polars).
- You are rigorous in evaluating models and analysing bias.
Nice to have
- Experience with recommendation, reinforcement learning or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Open source contributions or publications.
- Experience developing multi-step agents (tool use, orchestration).
